DETOXIFICATION

Diflucan: Diflucan is a prescription antifungal agent that we incorporate into our candida treatment program. IV Diflucan works directly to kill not only candida, but also non-candida species of fungus. The IV route of administration bypasses the intestinal tract which allows more of the Diflucan to eliminate the fungus and prevent its growth.

DMPS Chelation: DMPS Therapy is a potent chelator that binds to the mercury in your body which is then excreted mainly through the urine and feces via the kidneys and liver. DMPS is considered the best-known treatment for the removal of mercury poisoning or toxicity. It is also our preferred treatment for cadmium toxicity.

DTPA Chelation: DTPA is a very potent chelator that we use primarily for people with significant heavy metal burden. Gonino Center for Healing treats many cancer patients most of whom have significant gadolinium and thallium toxicity from previous MRI scans and CT scans. Many of these patients also have high levels of platinum toxicity secondary to cisplatin or oxyplatin chemotherapy

EDTA Chelation Push: This is a short IV “push” that Dr. Gonino often recommends to remove toxins and heavy metals from the blood and body. It does an excellent job; comparable to EDTA chelation (long bag). It is likely Dr. Gonino will recommend doing this IV as part of your initial IV series to qualify and quantify your body’s heavy metal burden.

EDTA Chelation (long bag): Chelation therapy is a chemical process in which a synthetic solution called EDTA is injected into the bloodstream to remove heavy metals and/or toxins from the body. Chelation means “to grab.” Once the EDTA is injected into the veins, it “grabs” the heavy metals and minerals such as lead, mercury, arsenic, aluminum, etc. and removes them from the body. EDTA chelation (long bag) removes plaque from partially blocked arteries, scavenges free radicals that cause cancer, decreases cholesterol 9 to 16%, improves kidney function and removes heavy metals and toxins from the body.

Hydrogen Peroxide (H202): This therapy was pioneered by the late Charles Farr M.D., Ph.D. and is now in widespread use in this country. Dr. Farr taught Dr. Gonino the proper way to administer this treatment at a seminar Dr. Farr conducted at Genesis Research Institute in Oklahoma City February of 1997. We have been using it ever since with zero adverse outcomes through February 2020. The principle utility of this treatment is to kill candida in the blood, as well as remove atherosclerotic plaque from your arteries. Because it includes vitamins and minerals, it also strengthens your immune system, similar to IV vitamins. In cases of chronic dehydration and chronic fatigue we also offer H202 with mineral boost.

RESTORATIVE

Amino Acid: Antibiotics, steroids, birth control pills and other toxins that we eat, and drink disrupt bowel ecology which blocks to some extent the absorption of nutrients. Amino acids are the building blocks of life. Our body uses 20 amino acids, connected in different patterns to build protein molecules. Why is this important? Because your whole body is made of protein. It is used in the synthesis of muscle (actin, myosin), skin and connective tissues (collagen), enzymes (digestion of food) and hormones (insulin, growth hormone, thyroid hormone). Amino acids are even used to make neurotransmitters like serotonin, dopamine, adrenaline and GABA, which influence our moods, craving and behaviors. It goes without saying that we need a constant supply of amino acids to maintain optimal health. The problem is many people don’t get enough amino acids despite eating abundant amounts. Cancer Amino Acid Treatment works at keeping the body’s balance of health-giving amino acids high, and the fast-growth amino acids low. To put it simplistically, all this combines to produce a situation where the body is better able to effectively fight off the disease. Amino acids are extremely important in the treatment of cancer. Dr. Thomas Tallberg from Helsinki presented his studies which demonstrated that patients with prostate cancer, leukemia and skin cancer benefited greatly from taking amino acids and other micronutrients. He believes that amino acids should always be included in cancer treatment. Dr. Gonino’s primary use of Amino Acids is for “wasting syndrome” for cancer, Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), and Multiple Sclerosis (MS).

Glutathione: Glutathione is an amino acid (protein building block) that does a tremendous job repairing liver stress/damage and it is the strongest antioxidant on the planet. We often couple this treatment with other supplements, nutrition, coffee enema, etc. for liver detoxification. We have had outstanding success treating such disease as Chronic Hepatitis C and Cirrhosis, without prescription drugs.

Phosphatidylcholine: Phosphatidylcholine is a phospholipid that is a major component of the cell membrane of all of our cells. The cell membrane protects our cells from their surroundings, which at various times in our lives can include toxins, viruses, fungus and nagalase (an enzyme secreted from cancer cells that can adversely affect other cells, i.e., cancerous spread or metastasis). Therefore, having strong cell membranes is advantageous. Because phosphatidylcholine is part of the composition of the myelin sheath, the principle use of this IV at Gonino Center for Healing is to treat various disease processes that affect the nervous system; for example, Parkinson’s Disease, Multiple Sclerosis (MS), Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) and stroke.

Ozone: Ozone is three molecules of oxygen, O3, instead of the usual way that oxygen exists in nature, which is O2. It was first discovered in 1786 and first synthesized in a German Lab in 1840. In 1873 it was discovered that when any micro-organism, ex: viruses, bacteria, tuberculosis, diphtheria were subjected to ozone gas, they were killed. In 1911, Dr, Noble Eberhart, head of the Department of Physiology of Loyola Chicago University used ozone to treat tuberculosis, anemia, pertussis, asthma, bronchitis, diabetes, gout and syphilis. In 1961 Dr.Hans Wolff developed the major and minor auto chemotherapy techniques that we use in our office today. As you may remember from your high school biology class, the majority of energy in your body, called ATP, is produced in the mitochondria of our cells, through a process called electron transport. Oxygen is the final electron receptor in this process. Therefore, if we can increase the oxygen content of the body, this process can occur more efficiently. Circulation is improved with ozone allowing more oxygen to be carried to the tissues. Ozone can strengthen the immune system and increase immune response when needed, by stimulating white blood cell production and tumor necrosis factor to fight off infection and cancer cells. Inflammation can be quieted by ozone and ease symptoms of autoimmune diseases like Rheumatoid Arthritis, Crohn’s Disease and Lupus. Ozone kills bacteria, viruses, parasites and fungi.

Saline: Most humans are chronically dehydrated for a number of reasons. Chronic dehydration leads to increased acidity in the body which sets the stage for many chronic diseases; for example, fibromyalgia, heart disease, cancer. Gonino Center for Healing employs this IV in these settings as well as clinical situations which include dehydration as a central feature in the disease process; for example, POTS (postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome), Addison’s Disease (adrenal insufficiency).

NUTRITIVE

Albumin: This IV is primarily employed for the compensation of low Albumin in patients with congestive heart failure, hypothyroidism, inflammatory bowel disease and other malabsorption states, and to help the cancer patient who has liver metastasis.

Alpha Lipoic Acid: Alpha Lipoic Acid is the rate-limiting factor for the production of energy from carbohydrate (pyruvate). Without Alpha Lipoic Acid (ALA), you could not obtain energy from the food you eat, and you could not stay alive. Alpha Lipoic Acid (ALA) is also an excellent antioxidant and recycles other nutrients such as CO-Enzyme Q-10, vitamin C and Vitamin E. ALA chelates heavy metals such as mercury, lead, and arsenic. It stabilizes NP kappa B transcription factor so that it helps to inactivate deleterious genes. ALA can also help people with diabetes mellitus by increasing the sensitivity of their cells to insulin, and it helps reverse diabetic neuropathies. In combination with selenium and milk thistle, ALA has been shown to dramatically improve liver function in patients with elevated liver enzymes (Berkson, M.D. Ph.D., New Mexico State University).

Vitamin C: In May of 2006, Dr. Gonino attended a conference in Dallas sponsored by the American College for Advancement in Medicine. One of the speakers at the conference was Mark Levine M.D., presently with the National Institute of Health (NIH) Bethesda, Maryland. Dr. Levine’s passion is the use of high dose intravenous vitamin C against various types of cancer. Thus far, Dr. Levine’s work in the laboratory has shown that lymphoma cancer cells, breast cancer cells and kidney cancer cells are totally susceptible (cell surviving rates ranging from 0% surviving cells to 0.3% surviving cells) to the killing effects of intravenous Vitamin C, without doing any damage whatsoever to normal body cells. Although, Dr.Levine’s research did not show efficacy against colon cancer, as some of you may know, Chris Wark (Chris Beat Cancer) attributes much of his legendary success to juicing vegetables and intravenous Vitamin C.

Mistletoe’s direct anti - cancer effects include : 1). Induce apoptosis. Apoptosis means programmed cell death. This is achieved through direct cytotoxic effects by breaking down tumor cell membranes and indirectly by supporting our bodies NK and CD8 cells which are able to kill cancer cells. 2). Limit metastasis. Mistletoe ( VAE) appears to reduce cancer’s ability to expand its own blood supply by lowering Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor. VAE also appears to inhibit protein synthesis by the tumor cells. This effects the tumor’s ability to spread. 3). Repair and stabilize DNA. When healthy cells are damaged by cancer or chemotherapy or radiation , VAE appears to stabilize and repair DNA. 4). Mistletoe therapy both damages the tumor and empowers the immune system to join in with that process of identifying and eliminating tumor cells.

NAD+ (Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide) can be used in holistic treatment for a variety of conditions including but not limited to: addiction, depression, anxiety, and chronic fatigue. Salicinium: Salicinium is currently our most potent treatment that we have for metastatic cancer of all types. Salicinium works by four (4) mechanisms: 1) It impairs glycolysis which is how the cancer cell obtains nutrition. 2) It increases apoptosis which is programmed cancer cell death. 3) It increases GcMaf, a substance that digests Nagalase. Nagalase “cloaks” the cancer cell making it difficult for our body’s macrophages to recognize it. 4) Salicinium upregulates our body’s Natural Killer Cell activity.

Superoxide Dismutase (SOD): This IV antioxidant has shown to produce great improvements in patients with neuralgic disease (Multiple Sclerosis, ALS-Lou Gehrig’s Disease, Guillen-Barre Syndrome) as well as various forms of cancer. This is the main antioxidant therapy employed by Robert Bradford, D.S. and colleagues at the Bradford Research Institute in Chula Vista, California. This is the same facility that developed the phase-contrast microscope that we use in office to image your blood. The number one use of this IV at Gonino Center for Healing is to partially offset free radical damage caused by the CT scanner and PET scanner. Many of our cancer patients find that the SOD IV helps with pain management better than narcotic drugs.

Zithromax: Zithromax is a prescription antibiotic that we use primarily to treat mycoplasma that we see on microscope exam, or people with positive antibody titers (blood tests) for mycoplasma who have never been treated for it. Gonino Center for Healing also uses Zithromax in the acute setting to treat illnesses such as bronchitis, pneumonia, and strep throat in penicillin allergic patients.
